IVGID BOARD TO PURCHASE INCLINE LAKE PARCEL
     After the bickering stopped, trustees voted to buy a five-acre parcel of land near Incline Lake in Incline Village. The final vote was three to two to purchase the property for $1,000,000.00 to be paid for over three years. This land in Incline Village near  the lake would allow various outdoor activities including a number of community programs sponsored by the Incline Village schools.
     Some of the controversy over the land purchase included a lack of information regarding how the land would be used, how the purchase would be funded and the actual boundaries of the parcel.
     Those in favor of the purchase agreed that the Incline Village land purchase was too good to pass up. It will be a priority for the finance department to allocate the money to fund the project from a variety of sources. Most people will agree that the community will benefit greatly from this acquisition. Another great reason to own Incline Village Real Estate.


MARCH 2006----WETTEST ON RECORD
     March around Lake Tahoe has proven to be a very wet month, indeed. With snow falling nearly every day, the lake has risen to within four feet of its highest level ever. This occurred in 1907 when the lake swelled to 6231.26 feet. Since then, we have not come near the record, until this year. In the last month, the mountain has received over 9 feet of snow!
     All of the local ski resorts have reported bases of snow up to almost 200 inches! Incline Village’s own Diamond Peak Ski Resort has enjoyed a season that has been one of the best in years with predictions of skiing well into the spring and even summer. Temperatures have been comfortable and there’s nothing better than fresh snow every couple of days. Another great reason to own Incline Village Real Estate.


LAST TRACKS AT DIAMOND PEAK, INCLINE VILLAGE
     Due to popular demand, and excellent snow conditions, Diamond Peak has added one more of it’s wine tasting events. For those who have not participated in the past, it is an event at this Incline Village ski resort’ s famous Snow Flake Lodge. It allows wine lovers to taste favorites while munching on appetizers and gazing at breathtaking views of  Lake Tahoe. After wining and tasting, all will proceed on skis or snowboards down a freshly groomed corduroy run to the bottom of the hill. Tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased online at diamondpeak.com or at the Diamond Peak service window. All participants must be able to ski or snowboard down from the event as at least an intermediate proficiency. Another great reason to own Incline Village Real Estate.

What a great year to own a piece of Incline Village Real Estate. It is March 1st already and Ski Season has not slowed down one bit. Lake Tahoe received a very good amount of snow this year and the local ski resorts are having record years. Another big storm is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and it should deliver some more of the soft white stuff, prolonging our winter playtime. What could be better? Well, how about a beautiful spring and a great summer? That’s right! When the snow stops falling and it begins to melt, it will fill the lake with that crystal clear water just perfect for all the fun water activities we love so much. What’s that? You say you don’t ski and you are not interested in water sports. How about golfing, hiking, fishing, sitting on the beach and the hundreds of other outdoor activities that await you in paradise? And what about gambling, dining and night life with big name entertainment? Or How about doing absolutely nothing at all?

As you can see, of all the places one could choose, it’s hard to beat owning Incline Village real estate as your main residence, second home, retirement home and or your best real estate investment.

Many people want to know if this is a good time to be buying Incline Village real estate and in my opinion the answer is definitely YES! Although we have had a price run-up here in town in the past two years, prices are starting to level off. Nobody is predicting that prices will begin to decline and in time prices should start moving up once again. If this holds true, we are at the beginning of the next rising market. Waiting for prices to come down in order to buy will probably result in your paying more money some time in the future. Interest rates are still unbelievably low even though they have started to rise lately. If they continue to rise, waiting to buy at a later date will also cost you more money in the form larger monthly payments. And, while you are waiting for that elusive deal, you are missing the best that life has to offer. For these reasons, if you have been considering buying Incline Village real estate, now is the perfect time to make it happen.
